Christchurch (Peartree) Baptist (former), Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden City

A branch of the Baptist church in Parkway, This has been based in an ex Highways Agency building on the eastern side of the railway since 2012. It was replaced in January 2016 by a new site at a former office building at Indigo Court in Tewin Road.

Congregational Church, Hadham Cross, Much Hadham

On the main road through this large east Hertfordshire village. It dates from 1872-1874 and designed by Habershon & Brock, the hall behind and to the side is a very similar building.

Methodist Church, Northridge Way, Hemel Hempstead

In suburban Hemel Hempstead. Opened in 2015, this church replaced a town centre building demolished in 2014 and an older building on this site. The worship area is at one end as part of a larger development of ancillary rooms by Life Build Solutions.

Harwood Park Crematorium, Watton Road, Stevenage

Just beyond the southern edge of Stevenage. A modern crematorium privately owned by Austin’s undertakers. There is a non denominational chapel in the complex.

Wesleyan Chapel (former), Damask Green, Weston

Close to the village centre, unlike the parish church. It dates from 1861.

Methodist Church (Former), The Green, Kimpton

Attractively sited at the corner of a green close to the parish church. It was taken out of use in around 2007 and converted, along with the hall, into housing in 2010. The church dates from 1870.

Evangelical Free Church, Mimms Hall Lane, Potters Bar

At the far western edge of the town and next to the Brethren’s Hall.

A typical anonymous looking Brethren Hall. Right next to the Evangelical Free Church.

Brethren’s Meeting Room (Former), Duke Street, Hoddesdon now demolished and replaced by housing

A typical small unadorned Brethren Hall north of the town centre. It closed in 2018 and was used as offices by Herts Building Solutions. By November 2021 it has been replaced by a small housing development.

Primitive Methodist Chapel (Former), Sopwell Lane, St Albans

Built in 1844 but vacated in 1875, when it passed into use by the Dagnall Street Baptist Church. From 1934 -2003 it was used by the St Albans Band for rehearsals, hence the name given to the house into which it was converted in 2012.
