Chapels, West Herts Cemetery, High Elms Lane, Garston

There are two chapels next to each other. The larger North Chapel dates from 1959  and the smaller South chapel from 1977 .

Cemetery, St John’s Road, Hitchin

Two chapels one for Anglicans and one for Dissenters at right angles to each other. The cemetery and presumably the chapels date from 1857.

On the western edge of the town, the chapel is a simple post war building.

Cowley Hill Free Church (Baptist), Stanborough Close, Borehamwood

On the north eastern edge of the town hidden among suburban housing. Despite the Baptist in the name this is a totally independent church.

St Andrew United Reformed/Methodist, Aycliffe Road, Borehamwood

On the northern side of the town. It was designed by Paul Mauger and Partners and finished in 1956.

Alongside the Manor Way shopping parade on the south side of Borehamwood.

St Paul’s Lutheran, St Paul’s Close, Borehamwood

On the southern edge of Borehamwood, a modern building for the only Lutheran church in the county.

Trinity Church (URC/Methodist), Park Lane, Knebworth

Built as a Congregational Chapel in 1887, it became part of the United Reformed Church in 1972 and amalgamated with the Methodist church in 1996.

Welwyn Evangelical Church, Fulling Mill Lane

On a spacious site on the northern edge of Welwyn. The post war modern building used for worship is at right angles to the now subdivided older chapel. It was formerly called Bethel Chapel.
