St Katherine, Ickleford

In the centre of what is now virtually the northern suburb of Hitchin. The south aisle is in the Norman style by GG Scott from 1859.

St Faith, Hexton

On the edge of this village on the Bedfordshire border. It is mainly 13th century with a 15th century tower and clerestory. There was a heavy restoration in 1807. The nave is now used as for community uses, the chancel for worship. The tower is a shell following its fall in 1947 with community facilities added in the base in recent years, 2014 saw further work to restore the exterior. The east window is from 1964 by Harry Stammers.

St Mary with St John, Hertingfordbury

Just outside Hertford. A rebuilding of 1888-91 by Charles Godfrey for the Earls of Cowper who lived nearby in Panshanger Park and containing many family monuments from the 17th to the 20th century in a chapel at the end of the north aisle. Under the tower are two older 17th-century monuments

St Mary, Hemel Hempstead

On a hillside in the old town. A large cruciform late norman church with a leaded spire. The chancel and a narrow north room are stone vaulted.

St Etheldreda, Old Hatfield

Just outside the walls of Hatfield House and Palace. Large but aisleless nave (David Brandon 1872) but substantial transepts and chancel chapels. Fine Burne-Jones glass in one transept and a war memorial window by Christopher Whall in the nave and many monuments to the Salisburys in their private chapel.
