The chapel of a large former mental hospital whose site is now redeveloped as housing and a park. It is now used by DEMAND (Design and Manufacture for Disability). The chapel dates from 1868-70 and was designed by Giles and Biven.

Right in the middle of the village. The building dates from 1882, although there had been Methodist meetings since 1878, and was then clearly gothic, however in 1962 its layout was reversed and the exterior appearance simplified and rendered.

About a mile from the village centre stands this church of 1959.

Just off the village street and very close to the Anglican church. Designed by John Rochford and dating from 1962-63. The large sculpture is by David John.

A short way north of Watford on the road to Hemel Hempstead is St Lawrence’s Church. The Nave arcades are Norman, much of the rest is 14th century. However there was a serious fire in 1969 so there has been much restoration in recent years.
