St John the Evangelist, Lemsford

On the edge of Lemsford village and serving Brocket Hall as well as the village. Built for the Cowper family by David Brandon in 1858-1859. F.E. Howard added the remarkably old-fashioned Nall-Cain family south chapel in 1930.

St Etheldreda, Old Hatfield

Just outside the walls of Hatfield House and Palace. Large but aisleless nave (David Brandon 1872) but substantial transepts and chancel chapels. Fine Burne-Jones glass in one transept and a war memorial window by Christopher Whall in the nave and many monuments to the Salisburys in their private chapel.
