St Mary, Standon
In the centre of an attractive village. There is an almost detached 15th century tower and the church steps steeply up a hillside. The upper parts of the churchyard are level with the aisle roofs. The chancel is 13th century. The nave is 14th century with the west porch of the 15th century. It was restored in 1864-65 by G & H Godwin. There was a reordering completed in August 2017 that installed a nave altar dais, kitchen and toilet and this work is easily distinguished below from the red carpet.

Holy Trinity, Wareside
A neo Norman church of 1840-1841 by Thomas Smith in the Babbs Green part of the village. The nave was extended by G. & H. Godwin in 1866 and a southeast vestry added in 1902.
St Mary the Virgin, Ware
Sideways on to the main street at the west end of this east Hertfordshire town. Large and mainly 14th and 15th century but much restored by George Godwin in 1852. The organ has received a major refurbishment in 2016 and the old brass coloured pipes are shown alongside the new silver coloured ones replacing them. There are a huge selection of corbels and carved headstops of which only a few are shown here.
